The topics that come up this week could not have been more different.Wednesday and Thursday, I joined a two-day event by IDEO's Last Mile Money initiative (thanks, Ale). The participating group heard from a few people in South America about their struggles with inflation and broken financial systems, listened to panel discussions and had its own discussion to wrap things up. Always puts things in perspective when you hear from people who have to navigate serious societal issues. In the community call, we discussed solar bitcoin mining and UX research, and right after that a new merchant marketplace proposal for the Bitcoin Beach app. Also, the final decision was made for Summer of Bitcoin. Unfortunately, we could not the right person for the Bitcoin Core project. But luckily there were plenty of good ones for Padawan with distinct work areas, so we accepted 3 students there and will work as a larger student and mentor group. I suppose a playful wallet for teaching bitcoin to newcomers is way more interesting to students than a more strategic project like the Bitcoin Core one.Talking about Bitcoin Core, I started putting together a design documentation site for the new app. Goal is to create a super solid foundation that will speed up development, make it easier to onboard new designers, and help the hive mind to make better design decisions. The site is mostly empty right now and will be filled over the next weeks and months. And now for a few videos.
