I think this week was pretty productive.
My Android finally made its way through all the bitcoin blocks and I get to enjoy the block clock. It nicely stays up-to-date even in the background.
Lots of discussion and a bit of design work around a handful of open issues and PRs to make it all a little bit smoother. Also had a few new/old designers join the call, which is super nice. The design docs are also now updated with info on how to test and give feedback. A really nice time in this project where a lot of hard work has come together.
The Saving Satoshi crew is working hard on the next milestone (proper accounts and chapter 2). Below are two videos I put together, one with idea on improving the mining challenge, the other one around saving user progress.
After this milestone, it might be a good idea to spend a bit of time just polishing and taking a short break from building new stuff.
For Wallet Scrutiny, I spent a good amount of time putting together a “final” set of all pages that ideally only require minor tweaks before they can go be implemented. We spent a lot of time in discovery, and discussing. Time to wrap up, use it, get feedback, and then see what else needs to be done.
I open-sourced Nosta, the code is here. As I mentioned, people requested this, since it touches private keys. I’ll just keep plucking away at the issues I opened as I have a bits of time here and there.
Talking about socials, I am also on Bluesky now at @gbks.bsky.social (here’s my Nostr profile). One more place to cross-post everything right now. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out with all these new protocols.
Also spent a bit of time with community/website maintenance (one, two, three). Daniel pushed Stephen’s PR to update the site reference of Slack with Discord, cementing that move. A few other parts of the site also need refreshes, like keeping the list of projects current.
Jam session, newsletter and community call are coming up next week again, so I’ll keep my focus a bit more on community & BTC Prague planning rather than projects. Managing focus is pretty essential.
Will I ever be bored again in my life? I somehow doubt it.
Have a good weekend.
