V2 & V∞
FOSDEM happened last weekend and it was a really good time. It's great to have a track specific to open-source & design to go deep on the particular dynamics that happen when these two concepts meet. Big picture, open design has a ton to prove in order to establish itself. Here's our presentation:
Most of this week was about launching V2 of the guide. Was fun to celebrate this a bit with everyone on the community call.
It might seem like a formality to "launch a V2" of content that actually iterates very linearly and continuously, but the human side is what makes this important. Always feels great to call something "done" and lean back for a moment and appreciate what the community made happen. And continuous improvement may not be visible if you don't pay close attention, so making an announcement also helps with that.
As for next steps, varying things are already under way (ah, the joy of Github maintenance). A few of us had a spontaneous 2-hour video live stream session this morning to discuss some of the open issues and what we want to work on. While there are a few big tickets, there really is a lot of small refinement work to do that will take time to focus and work through.
Other than the design sprint calls (1, 2) for the Wallet Design Improvement Project, I hope that next week is a bit more calm, as I need to catch up with several ongoing projects and get enough focus time to get through everything.
