Stratospheric merchant bees
Let's do a quick hit list of a few things for this week's summary.
Spent a bit of time roughing in ideas for a home page for Stratum V2. Fun to start a project purely from a design perspective, but this only goes so far until it's more productive to start from another angle - content. Not so simple for this project to figure out, but will try to push on that a bit next week. That will in turn affect layouts and also the brand again. Other peeps also put some really good design concepts together, really cool to see. Hope we get a lot of different opinions and touches represented in the final output.
Also fun, refining the Alby browser extension icons to ensure it's clear when lightning is supported in the site, when Alby is connected, etc (issue, design).
There's momentum on getting a merchant section in the design guide going. This became pretty clear with the activity in the community by Galoy, and also the latest design guide jam session. At this time, I am spread too thinly to put lots of work in this, but will try to support it from an organizational side (like setting up issues here and here and facilitating discussions and such).
And we spent an hour testing out PenPot, an open-source design tool. Rough around some edges, but works great and it's impressive what a small open-source team can deliver. Hope this keeps flourishing. I am considering publishing Bitcoin Icons as a PenPot library, to show some practical support.
Next week I really need to find focused time to do work for the JoinMarket Web UI design, Bitcoin Core App organization, Stratum content, and guide PRs assigned to me. Let's see what I'll get done.
Happy Friday.
