On to the next one...
Revue is shutting down (no surprise here), so I will move to Substack. Just need to go through the migration process, which is not happening right now due to Revue API issues. I'll be able to migrate the subscribers, so I don't think you need to do anything.
Anyhow, I'm testing one of the latest PR builds of the Bitcoin Core App on my Android. Super exciting to get hands-on and play with it.
V1 is all about running a node on all kinds of devices, so there's little to do for a user in the app yet. But it's a great foundation, will make it easier to run a node, and will make adding wallet features smooth later. We went over a list of things to polish in the call this week, really nice to be at that point. The app currently only works when in the foreground, which I hope we can also address soon.
The design file for the project is now also finally properly cleaned up and available on community file. Design docs also got bit of an update, specifically more details on the block clock page, and matching the first use screens to what's in the app.
Wallet Scrutiny is progressing. I mocked up the concept of code supply chains this week and got positive feedback (call recording). This will be a nice framework for the information shown on the wallet detail page. For next week I want to look at the expert opinions feature. I hope we can continue to systematically step through the design problems, and then tie it all together. Also props to Mo for her work on personas.
Saving Satoshi was a bit slower after our big push last week. I went a bit deeper into fleshing out the design of the code challenge experience. For development, we're doing a bit of clean-up and addressing some very basic functionality things. I really want to keep some momentum going here.
Ed and Moritz interviewed me for the bolt.fun "Meet the Makers" series. I'm a big fan of this series as you get to know people a little bit better beyond their practical contributions. I had a good time and I hope it was interesting to others.
Other bits this week:
The merchants call reviewing BTCPay (recording) was interesting
More discussions around being more active at conferences. I need to dedicate some time to really think through this and come up with some practical ideas and proposals
Just got off a UX research call around the Research Kit Mo is working on. A really nice group there, making good progress
Fleshed out the daily spending wallet prototype further with some new flows
Unfortunately missed the PayJoins call (will have to watch the recording)
Juggling lots of hands-on work right now, thanks to all the great people making these projects so interesting and fun to be part of. Next week I need to shift a little more to top-level stuff.
And hopefully you'll read the next update on Substack.
Have a good one.
