Hot summer
Slight change of plans. Instead of going to Surfin' Bitcoin (expensive), I got tickets for Baltic Honeybadger and Bitcoin Amsterdam. Should be awesome to meet people in person.
COSCUP was great, we got some good questions, and I embedded the talk and panel discussion below. Would love to hear feedback.
Did another accessibility test this week, looking at Wallet of Satoshi this time. Happened to be the same day that I went to a local meetup at a beer garden which accepted lightning payments via Wallet of Satoshi. In my testing, I found various accessibility problems, some of them pretty problematic. Also encountered a few usability things that could be improved. I emailed them the video (did not find other contact info), let's see if I hear back.
We had our first design jam session for the Bitcoin Core App. We're discussing a better process (a proposal) for us to collaborate across design and development. Goal is to be super public and open, balance immediate and future design needs, and document things well for our own sake as well as interested onlookers and potential contributors. The design docs are now available at bitcoincore.app. I hope we can excel at this and set a great example that other projects may want to follow.
While discussing this process and wallet design, I realized that November will mark 5 years of designing wallets for me (my entry point into all this). Also now working on bitcoin UX for 2 full years. Something I have to keep in mind. Experience is good because you've understood and figured out a lot of things. And it can be bad because you don't have beginner's mind anymore and may fall back to established pattern that may not be relevant.

As far as PRs, the one for the security page is live, the one of the privacy page is out of draft mode, and I created a new draft for a "Log in with bitcoin" page. Hope I can get some well-considered feedback on them.
The Summer of Bitcoin students just have 2-3 weeks left. We had a good collaborative call with them to help them refine a visual direction. Was super nice to work with them, I hope it was helpful. Goal is that they can present their work on the next community call.
Lots of other activity going on, more than I can keep up with. Really nice to see. Next week I'll visit family for a few days, so things will be a bit slower.
The end...✍️
