Woohoo! We won Best Design at the Global Adoption track of Legends of Lightning. The whole team has been working super hard on the project and presentations, congrats to all. The prize money will go to rewarding learners in Saving Satoshi when they complete their learning journey to become IRL bitcoiners. And also major congrats to the winning, and the non-winning, teams for their huge efforts. There's a summary here.
Here's a 5-minute overview of the latest status of the prototype. Using something is very different than just looking at static designs. I think we'll get some good feedback on the UI decisions because people will see the daily spending wallet through a different (user) lens via the prototype.
Still plenty of work to do there, but making progress.
The same can be said about the Bitcoin Core App. The dev gang is making progress on the remaining to-dos for V1. Major construction is done and it's mostly polish, which is really great. With Legends of Lightning being done, I need to shift some of my focus back to core to help wrap up a few remaining bits and organize the design docs.
We had another call with Wallet Scrutiny, and I think we're narrowing in on a better sense for the audience and how to communicate. Most people don't think about how the code developers write makes it on their devices and the various security aspects at each step. Can we find a way to inform users well so they can make informed decisions based on their unique situation, needs, and risk tolerance? Let's find out.
Various conversations happening around plans for 2023. What to do more of, what less? What worked in 2022, what didn't? I think we have some really good things going on, but also need to shift a few things around and kick off some new efforts. Very detailed, I know. But, this is just a super brief weekly write-up that is not meant to take a ton of time (that time goes to doing things). There's a 1,000 interesting conversations and small things happening every week that I don't mention here. Let's chat in Slack or on Twitter if you'd like to know more.
