Another week of lots of in-the-weeds things, which I like a lot. That’s the day-to-day stuff that adds up to good big outcomes. Let’s dig in.
Starting with something fun (actually, all of this stuff is fun… seriously), Chris is working on intro and tutorial videos (very excited for those) for the Bitcoin UI Kit, and we chatted about how wallet brands could be a bit more expressive. So we just want ahead and messed around with some cover screen for Mutiny on the extremely graphical side. Exploring these extremes opens up the full range of possibilities and makes it easer to point to the place you want to be at. There was some good feedback, and posted a follow up around the creative expression scale. We have a design review call with Mutiny next week, maybe we can discuss these design ideas, too.
Still did not spend much time on Saving Satoshi. Did some testing around the new nav that was pushed live, and filed some issues around mobile UX. And I need to finalize this graphic below that illustrates a tree of blocks for the chapter 8 challenge.
Bitcoin Core App is taking quite a chunk of time right now. There’s project planning, supporting implementation with questions, design tweaks and documentation, as well as helping out with wrapping up design work. I finalized the animations and implemented them in the web prototype (check it out), and did an iteration on Jakub’s latest designs for creating multi-key wallets. And then I also spent time iterating on the text and visuals for the project case study, which we want to get live very quickly (this has been dragging for a while now).
Speaking of the guide, I created a new PR based on the feedback we got from Sven, reviewed PRs, and responded to feedback on the human-readable addresses PR. Would love to wrap that up next week as well.
BTC Prague dev/hack/day design track planning is also coming along. We refined the program more and have several speakers confirmed. The concept for the space itself and how we want to create an interactive, collaborative atmosphere, is also in good shape. We’ll also do another 50-unit run of the card game, this time with proper packaging and instructions. Still lots to do with all this… but it will be fun.
Oh, and Blue Wallet merged a fix for an accessibility issue I filed a little over a year ago. Slow, but making progress.
And we finalized a couple of grant contracts for the foundation. I’m excited to announce those publicly soon.
Shout-out to all the great people I get to work with on all these cool projects.
Peace 🍰
