What a buzz last week was. Just so many good things going on, I really need more time in the day sometimes.
The community Nostr profile is now set up, more here.
We have a milestone for the UI Kit with things to get done before the Advancing Bitcoin workshop.
There might be a 2-week pop-up bitcoin space in a big mall in Munich in May. More here. I hope the design community can help with this, I had a call with the organizer and it sounds great.
Planning around design(er) presence at BTC Prague are getting more organized.
The newsletter went out and we chatted about everything in the community call.
Joined a really interesting call by the newly formed Bitcoin Product Community. Amazing to get a bundling of brain power around project management going.
Found out that Summer of Bitcoin is happening again, let’s see if we can organize a few opportunities for design students to contribute.
The Satlantis (Bitcoin Minecraft server) crew reached out about a potential collaboration with Bitcoin Design. That could be fun.
Scheduled a call to review the Simple Crypto app with the community. Still need to finalize one to review the JAM design work and process.
Spiral announced my grant renewal. Huge thanks to the amazing crew there.
Mo presented at FOSDEM (also check out her weekly updates).
Lots of organizational things. More project-specific, Saving Satoshi moved forward with the second weekly image generation jam. Here are some of my thoughts I had put together to provide starting points for contributors.
And one of the final graphics I came up with (see my whole process here).
I’m looking forward to week 3, to which Jarol just posted the next kick-off post.
The dev group is making good process, and I can feel that they will catch up with the current state of design soon. That means design has to pick up the pace. That involves two things. One, design new lesson content for chapters 3-10. Second, to revise and polish the first-use and chapter 1 experience, based both on feedback and personal ambitions/expectations. It will likely take a good amount of time and effort the next weeks.
I had little time to spend on Wallet Scrutiny and Bitcoin Core, simply because so many other things (especially the organizational ones, but also various peeps reaching out for conversations) took priority. Wallet Scrutiny needs design specs for development right now, and Bitcoin Core needs minor design support for final V1 implementation things.
It was a week where I found myself sometimes replying with just super brief answers a few times because I was so thinly spread. Something I really don’t like to do. Luckily things are not so crazy busy that often, and the projects and people I’m involved with are super interesting, making it all worthwhile. It’s a pretty nice challenge to organize things so well that it almost feels boring because there are no fires to put out or time sensitive matters to feel stressed about. It’s a challenge that is never complete, but an ongoing balance. Like so many other things as well. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don’t, but ideally we tend towards getting it right more often than not.
It’s Monday, the next week has started, let’s keep at it.
