I went into last week with a sense that the most important tasks were all about project management work.
For the guide, we needed to set up a new milestone, which we did in the jam session. Was a nice start into the new year with some diverse work going on and new faces joining. For my first task, I wrote a draft for a new “/newsletter” page for the website, to give it more visibility.
For Wallet Scrutiny, it’s time to move from discovery and connecting into detailing designs and validating them, and then ideally implementation. So I worked on spec’ing the wallet page designs with realistic content, put out a request for feedback, and then we discussed in our call.
And for Saving Satoshi, my first task was to compare the production site to the designs and create a concise list of issues that are self-explanatory and can be worked off in small chunks. For Saving Satoshi, we also need a good workflow for image generation, so I started writing this document that provides a foundation and guidelines for contributors to generate new visuals that work well with the story, lessons, and creative direction. Also made some good progress on development with Aurèle. Jonas is looking for bringing in more contributors to the project, which will be great in picking up the pace a bit and spreading the work out a bit better.
A few other things from last week:
The latest Bitcoin Design newsletter went out (it also hit 500 subscribers)
Which we discussed in the community call
Johns and I got accepted to speak at Advancing Bitcoin. He’ll talk about design & dev collaboration, and I’ll do a workshop on the UI Kit
Had a great intro call with someone interested in contributing to the UI Kit. Would love it if that panned out
That’s it for the quick recap. The new week has already begun, so I’ll get on with that. Thanks for tuning in.
