This was a bit of a brain-overload-week.
I spent a lot of time gathering milestone events and project collaborations for the 5-year report, based on the initial research Paperpsych had done. Sifting through newsletters, social accounts, Github issues, Discord history, etc. It’s definitely a lot easier with AI, having Claude and Github Copilot clean up data and extract various bits of data for me. Sometimes they make stuff up, but here they were very accurate. The deep research tools were also great. In the end, I still had to go manually over everything. So far we have ~50 events and ~85 projects. Earlier I shared the sheets with the community to give more input, as I am sure we missed a few things. And that should be a great base for digging into shaping content and layouts next week. Looking forward to that.

Here I am goofing around with the new Glass effect in Figma. It’s pretty cool and clearly needs to be applied to every layer. If we’re getting super-realistic with glass now, will other materials follow? Wood? Marble? Tungsten? Sometimes I just need a quick break from the more focus-heavy tasks, which is when I do these little throw-away experiments.
Back to more serious things. The Presidio Bitcoin Design Week is announced and out in the world. Now we need to keep promoting it and finalize programming.
And the education program plan is now sent out to a few specific people with expertise in that area, for feedback. One of the last things to add were success metrics, a very important thing to consider. It’s a 2-year plan, I am curious to hear what everyone thinks.
And we published another edition of the infamous Bitcoin Design newsletter that everyone is always talking about and you should check out right away, print out, and prepare for bedside reading tonight - although you may not be able to sleep from all those exciting updates - maybe better suited for during breakfast.
And a bunch of other stuff that I will spare you, so you can get on with more important things in life. But before we wrap up here, a big shout-out and thank-you to all the lovely people I get to work with and contribute to this space.
Happy Friday.
Peace & happiness.
