Felt like this week was about two things - PR reviews and the Bitshala fellowships.
For the latter, it’s rolling! We had kick-off calls with the fellows and mentors this week and they are off to work together. I am so extremely thankful for everyone who is chipping in, especially Raj for kicking off this whole initiative when we met at the Oslo Freedom Forum earlier this year. I’m planning to properly post about this on the social next week. Just need to take a moment and write up a few things.
Now let’s talk about those reviews.
Bitcoin Design Guide
For the guide, I helped with the final reviews and worked with Erik to get the brand-new Ecash section live. This is the first addition of Ecash, and there really is a lot there. Big thanks to Erik for inviting so many people to review and push his work forward, he ended up with 371 comments on his PR (which is a ton).
I also worked with Michael to finalize and push the Making changes page to his Inheritance wallet reference design live. This is also such a huge amount of work that is coming together. One more PR to go on this reference design, which is also almost good to go.
Not a PR, but related to the guide, we now have a few days of tracking data. Looks like people love the address page in the glossary and the units and symbols page. Might also just be that Google likes showing those pages to people. We’ll need more time to read this info, so we’ll see.
Open Design Guide
The reading club is done, we worked through all the chapters. I am continuing creating new PRs to implement the feedback we had. And I outlined some future steps here.
Bitcoin Core App
Got some good focus time on this project this week and caught up with a few things. I updated the coin flow (social post), proxy settings, and send flows of the prototype, pushed the new Features page live, tested some implementation PRs, and supported Michael in his work of pushing the send flow design docs further. It’s all in various states of progress.
We officially launched this week (also check out Satsie’s thread). There was a bunch of activity around the socials on this. Seems like people like it quite a bit. Can’t wait to hear more feedback. I spent a some time on the case study, mostly adding images. Hopefully we can wrap that up and get it out before the break.
And on a completely different note, and to no one’s surprise, I failed to build and run Blue Wallet locally. Just wanted to help test this PR, based on an issue I created 3 years ago. FML.
Peace & happiness
